A Rumor

A blog friend of mine that is also using AAC said she called them this past week and they confirmed that we have indeed moved up a spot. We are now number 10. Hopefully there will be more referrals in December. That would be a nice gift for me, to move up the list by several.

So Close To Number 10

I called AAC today and they have one baby girl out for review, once a family accepts her then we will move up one spot to #10.

LOVE-I love you enough to give any sacrifice for you

This is part of a story that I found on this blog http://blog.cjanerun.com/
It is truly how I feel about love. I have tried to verbalize these feelings and emotions but have never got it right. C Jane was able to put down exactly what I want my kids to know of love.

But the siblinghood in my family doesn't really do ownership anyway. We trade carpet cleaners, recipes and children alike. I have baby equipment from my sister-in-law Megan and Andrew's wood saw in our shed. We have Steph's SUV and Andrew has mine. Clothes spread around like a virus. I let someone borrow my favorite stretchy black dress and spotted it six months later on my sister-in-law Lindsay who was nine months pregnant. She handed it to the next pregnant female and truth-be-told, I never saw it again. But, come to think of it, I got it from Page in the first place. It came from some swank store in San Francisco.

But, I'm over it. See?

Perhaps my details are less clear because this process has taught me the value of charity. When you really care for someone you come to a point where all is yours, mine, ours. As in, what is yours to love, is mine to love, mine to love is yours to love. Love is the most important part.
Don't acquire anything unless you are willing to devote love. It is the Law of the Good Steward.

Social Worker Appointment

We met our social worker today for the first time. I really liked her. She was a very easy person to get to know. I have talked to her on the phone a few times and emailed with as well, I felt like I knew her already, just needed a face to put with the voice. I think the visit went great. She took the time to explain some of the adoption routines and also explained how Eastern in South Korea works to my husband. We will have another appointment in December and then unless things speed up real fast with referrals we will have our home study in January 2009. When I talked to AAC last week they had recently had a "bunch" of boy referrals, the girl said hopefully a "bunch" of girls will be next. That would be nice...I would love to jump down the list by several numbers the next time I call. I haven't decided if I will call before or after Thanksgiving.

Average

Well, I have averaged the number of babies referred since we officially were put on the list in May. If the progress stays about the same going forward I can hope for a referral in February 2009 and travel about April or May. Also if we get a baby referral for a baby that is five months in February that would most likely mean our baby would be born this month. I would love to have a fall baby! I contacted our social worker and she has sent out our family/friends recommendation letters and we have set up two office visit appointments. All we will have left is our home visit. Things are moving right along.

For Our Beautiful Girl

Who's Counting Anyways!

We are number 11! Today I will be calling our social worker so that we can set up our first meeting. She has all our paperwork, autobiographies, money...all that good stuff taken care of, just need to do the actual meetings. This process has gone quite quickly. Thank Goodness
*Karen's family is now #16! Hooray for them!*
