Finalization! She is ours completely...

We are finalizing a month late. For many reasons. Not our original plan...
The one really great thing about it, is that life is not as random as we sometimes think.
Our finalization day, is also Kaylee's birthday. She is my first born niece. She went to Korea with us to get Eun Jin.
It is so fitting that our court date would "randomly" fall on her birthday.
We love you Kaylee! Thanks for going to Korea with us to handle the "animals." Eun Jin will always have a special relationship with you and we are so happy that her "final" family day is also a special day for you-a day that the two of you will share together for the rest of your lives!
Now we can truly MOVE on from the adoption process. It is done!
The judge was so nice. He was very cute with Eun Jin. He got excited about taking pictures with her. She wanted him back and reached for him, he grabbed her little hands and just kissed, kissed, kissed them. He was such a joy to have on this day.
Dear Little Eun Jin,
You are such a funny girl. You know exactly what is going on. You understand so much and it amazes me. I love that you are so assertive. You are such a happy baby most of the time. You do not let anyone forget where you fit in our family. I am so happy that you have such a love for your brother and sister. You know that they will take care of you. Now that we have passed the last "milestone" of the adoption process we will be able to concentrate more on your life moving forward. We want to make you feel comfortable in your American life but we want you to know that we support you as a Korean-American and will do what we can to bring some of the Korean culture to your life. We do not want your Korean roots to be totally unfamiliar to you. We are reaching out to your birth mother with letters and pictures so that if she does check in she will know that we want her to be included in your life. We will be providing updates on your life so that some day she may feel comfortable enough to contact us and be a part of your life. We do not know if it will ever be possible but we hope that someday we can take you to Korea to meet with her. We would love for her to see what a beautiful girl you are. It makes my heart ache knowing that she may think of you everyday, wondering what you look like, what your favorite food is or how you are comforted. She would be so proud of what a sweet girl you are. So open to love and not afraid to show love by giving kisses and hugs. It made my heart happy tonight when I left for work and kissed everyone but you. You puckered up your little lips and Daddy said, "She wants her kiss." You know that when I leave everyone gets kissed and you were not missing out on your kiss. You recognize some of our family rituals already and accept them. Eun Jin we love you. We support you and will do what needs to be done for you to have a happy life.
Love Mama
