I know How You Feel-Not That It Helps Any.

I am one week back with our daughter, Isabella Eun Jin.
I have to say that being back you do not forget what you went through while waiting BUT it makes the wait worth it.
Nothing I can say will make it easier for any of you waiters, I know exactly the anguish you feel as each month passes by without your baby.
I can say that once you get your sweet baby you will know the joy that I am feeling now.
It is bittersweet for me to post pictures on my blog with Isabella Eun Jin. I know that each of you would trade places with me in the blink of an eye to be where I am at now.
I hope that some of the heaviness of your hearts will be lifted as I tell you that I thought Isabella would have a harder time leaving her foster mom and bonding with us as she neared one year of age. I think she has made a wonderful transition being slightly older. She had a secure loving relationship with her foster mom and sisters and you can tell that it has made an impact with the bonding. She has done so well. I think in her mind that she trusted her foster mom and subconsciously she understands that her foster mom would not have left her with someone that was not going to take care of her. Her foster mom was wonderful in the introduction process with us at Eastern. She told Isabella Eun Jin several times that we were uhm-ma (mommy) and ahba (daddy). She was very direct, but loving as well. She had her hug us many times and she herself hugged us so that Isabella would be comfortable with us.
Also once you have met your child you will have the peace that your family is right for them and they are definitely right for you. I "knew" with her referral that she was ours but you "feel" it when you meet in person.

I am right here cheerleading for all of you. Go Team Go You Are In The Last Stretch Of The Game!

  3. Please don't feel bad about posting pictures! It makes the wait easier for us waiters. Thanks though for this post I appreciate someone saying that it doesn't make the hurt go away but that it is worth it.
