This little girl is doing amazingly well.
The first night at home she stayed awake until 5 AM.
Every night since then she has slept through the night, except for one she woke up for a quick bottle and was back to sleep.
She has not liked falling to sleep in our bed so we have been trying to let her "watch" TV to fall asleep and then moving her up to our bed. She would wake up and fuss and cry.
Last night I put her in our bed and she only fussed for a few minutes and snuggled down to sleep.
With all that good luck I decided to try for a "real" nap time today. She has been falling asleep for us in our arms or in the car seat but not just laying down to sleep.
I grabbed a binki and her doll. I walked into our bedroom and she tensed up a bit against me but didn't cry. I put her down on her pillow, handed her the doll and gave her the binki. Then I crawled in bed next to her.
She did not fuss one time. She put her little face against my check and fell right to sleep.
I truly cannot believe it.
She also does not pick up anything and put it in her mouth... Who gave this baby lessons on making a parents life easy!
such a blessing to hear that she's adjusting well. Isn't it great to sleep next to a baby? There's no better nap in the world than one taken with a child.
ReplyDeleteThat's so great! She is so adorable... and she's HOME!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a blessing!! She sounds much like Briar when she first came home--SO easy on us! Briar slept through the night from night 1 and has never woken in the night in her almost 10 months home. Our SW always told us that if they sleep that well the first week home they are probably just a good sleeper (as opposed to in a honeymoon period)! I pray that is true for your sweet girl as well and that she continues to adjust so beautifully. She looks SO content.
ReplyDeleteSo glad she is doing well! She is adorable.
